2022 is all about those hydrated peachy glossy lips. Makeup trends come and go, so it was only a matter of time before glossy lips came back into fashion. Gloss also adds light to your makeup and makes your lips look healthy and plump. Here are a few tricks and tips from the expert Pooja Sethiya on how to achieve those perfect glossy lips. So if you're wondering how you can pull off
lip gloss and choose the right makeup pick, we're here to help.
- Exfoliate your lips with a scrubber to give that natural hydration to your lips. Gentle exfoliation can help remove dry skin that could be giving the lips a dull, rough appearance. It can also stimulate circulation, resulting in temporary pink lips.
- Wearing SPF lip balm, applying sunscreen to the skin and lips is one of the most effective things a person can do to prevent hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and visible aging. Every one should wear SPF on their lips, face, and other exposed areas when going outside even if they do
not burn easily, or live in a cold climate.
- Once you naturally prep your lips with above mentioned steps, now it’s finding a suitable colour match as you would when choosing foundation or concealer, lip gloss too depends on your skin tones and undertones. Light skin tones can stick to pink toned lip glosses. Medium & Olive can go for peach/coral lip gloss. Deeper skin tones can choose burgundy, berry and red toned lip gloss.
- Lip gloss isn’t something that requires six coats on top of each other. When glossing your lips, try to keep your coverage to a minimum to avoid a sticky, too-thick look. Apply only one to two thin layers of gloss until you have achieved shiny, even coverage.
- To achieve fuller lips don’t be afraid to add a little shimmer in the centre. Dab a highlighter/shimmer onto the centre of your lips, not only will they look extra glossy, but this little trick can also make your lips appear bigger. To finish off your lips, use the same highlighter to add a touch of shimmer to your Cupid’s bow.
