POOJA
SETHIYA

With over 11 years of experience in the makeup industry, I have built a career that spans from bridal beauty to high-end film and fashion. My journey began as a bridal makeup artist, where I honed my skills in enhancing natural beauty. Over time, I transitioned into working with some of the top actors in the South Indian film industry, earning recognition for my artistry and attention to detail.

In 2021, I took the next step in my career by moving to Los Angeles to specialize in prosthetics and special effects (SFX) makeup at Cinema Makeup School. Today, I am a full-time, LA-based makeup artist working across the film and fashion industries. My expertise includes beauty,
bridal, prosthetics, and SFX makeup, allowing me to bring a wide range of creative visions to life.

I have extensive experience in character creation, using advanced SFX techniques and prosthetics to transform actors with realistic wounds, aging effects, deformities, and supernatural features. Whether it’s crafting hyper-realistic injuries or designing bold, dramatic
looks, I am passionate about storytelling through makeup.

My work has been featured in Vogue, Elle, and Femina, and I have collaborated on film productions both in India and Los Angeles. With a strong background in on-set environments, I thrive under pressure and am committed to delivering high-quality, camera-ready looks that enhance every project.

Meet Pooja Sethiya
I started in 2013, it’s been almost ten years since I started. As a kid or a teen, I had different plans, I wanted to become an event manager and have my own company. Which I eventually did when I was 19, I did start a company with my friends and we organized events for a bit but it was not exciting to me after some time so one day I enrolled myself into a makeup school and since then I’ve never looked back. I’m blessed to have found my passion, doing makeup feels like meditation to me.

Meet Pooja Sethiya Canvas Rebel Magazine
I have been doing makeup for last ten years now & this is my full time job. Initially it wasn’t easy to find clients but being consistent is very important. I was living with my parents so I didn’t have to worry about making month to month which I feel helped me take this career path.

One of the major steps would be focusing more on my social media and being out there would have definitely helped me speed the process but never the less at this point in my life, I live on my own, make a full time living with my creative career.
